On May 12th, the second annual STRUT 512 event will take place at Lytle Pressley Contemporary and House+Earth on W. 6th from 8:00 pm- 12:00 with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting CapCityKids, a non-profit organization that develops innovative programs and provides direct resources to help homeless students stay in school.
STRUT 512 attracts foodies and fashionistas eager to enjoy a much anticipated night of stress-free mingling, entertainment, and palat-pleasing food & beverages from Austin’s local talent made possible with sponsors like Dolce Blu, Task Rabbit, 360 Valet, The Austin City Ballet, Premiere Booth, Arthouse Floral, and Live Social Appeal. Attractions will include a fashion show styled by Leonardo D’Almagro, aerial performance, and local artist auction.
“We cannot wait for the event and look forward to providing these children with a chance to beat the odds and obtain a quality education,” Jim Cannon, CapCityKids founder said in response to being selected as the benefactors of this year’s fundraiser. CapCityKids develops innovative programs and provides direct resources to help students stay in school though working on hurdles through maintaining grade level skills, meeting basic personal needs, and logistics like transportation.
MKV Productions, a local events, public relations, and marketing company, created STRUT 512 for Austinites to celebrate Austin’s culture and give back to the community. 512 is not just an area code anymore, it’s a recognized DAY to celebrate Austin. May 12th (5-12) has been officially proclaimed as “Austin’s STRUT 512 Day” by Mayor Lee Leffingwell, giving “512” a whole new meaning.
Tickets can be purchased for $100 at www.strut512.com or $125 at the door. The evening begins promptly at 8:00 pm with free parking courtesy of 360 Valet. Guests will enjoy food & drinks, a silent auction, interactive live art, surprise performances, and the highly anticipated fashion show, all with the goal of raising funds for CapCityKids.
