Literacy Council hosts golf tournament

The Literacy Council of Williamson County and the Texas Tarheels Baseball Club’s Golf Tournament
The Literacy Council of Williamson County and the Texas Tarheels Baseball Club are hosting a Fundraising Golf Tournament at the Golf Club at Star Ranch in Hutto, TX, Friday, August 10, 2012 to support two great community organizations, and have a chance on winning a trophy or a prize to take home. The fun begins with a Shotgun Start at 8am on August 10, 2012.

The Literacy Council of Williamson County is an agency founded in 1985 that provides and seeks the programs and resources necessary for individuals to become literate.  The agency’s focus is on serving adults with low literacy skills and high school dropouts in Williamson County and parts of North Travis County with about 1,200 clients served annually. Other projects include correctional adult education program contracted by Williamson Country corrections and workplace literacy designed to teach employees literacy skills necessary to function at work.

Texas Tarheels Baseball Club (TTBC) provides a clean, safe, positive environment for youth to play sports with an emphasis divided between helping individuals develop physical skills and promoting lifelong skills such as self-esteem and sportsmanship. As one of the Premier Baseball Club in the nation, TTBC compete in many showcase tournaments throughout Texas and the nation and is committed to the development of motivated, intelligent and well-rounded young athletes. The club sets high expectations for its student athletes to use responsibility to foster a sense of community and competitive baseball to enhance each child’s individual potential.
