Austin Fashion Awards 2012

This year’s Austin Fashion Week (AFW) organizers have arranged for designers Kendra Scott, Jessica Ciarla, and Ross Bennett along with local Mash-Up Teams showing at the Austin Fashion Awards presented by The CW Austin on Saturday, August 18th at Austin Music Hall. Runway will feature collections with hair and make-up by the talented team at Jackson Ruiz Salon, music by pop violinist Josh Vietti, and hosted by Sandy McIlree of mix 94.7.

Golden Boot Awards will be presented to new categories this year of Rising Stars, Trailblazers, and Mash-Up Teams. Mash Up Teams are comprised of at least a Photographer, Hair Stylist, Makeup Artist, Apparel Designer and Model. Some teams also have a Jewelry Designer, Accessories Designer and Wardrobe Stylist with one stunning image to represent their concept created by each team’s created concept.

The 2012 Austin Fashion Week Advisory Board and Host Committee comprised of Allen Ruiz, Anne Marie Beard, Chad Harlan, Elizabeth Gibson, Eve Nicols, Justin Brown, Kendra Scott, Lance Avery Morgan, Linda Asaf, Lisa Brooks, Rochelle Rae, Sandra Antoun and Stephen Moser will select award winners from a group of publicly nominated candidates.

Famed photographer Timothy White will once again select a Mash-Up Team to receive an Austin Fashion Award. Teams include: Fashion With a Cause, Hi-Contrast, Artistic License, The Arrivals, Etoile, Victorious Secret, Step Gold, Green Alley, Betes de Mode, Phoenix, Gothic Muse, Rise & Fawn, Toxic Vanity, Buns of Steel, Team Special K, Papel Picado, gold + raven, Team Calypso, The Adoration Collaboration, Something Bleu, Keep Austin Haute, Team Inspire, Tangerine Skies, Quantum of Style, The High Beams, Elements of Seven, DesertChic, 6 Stitches, A Day in the Light, Giant, and JAG and can be voted for by the public at: http://fashionweekaustin.com/mash-up-teams/ until Friday, August 10.

Austin Fashion Week kicks off with “Shift Into Style” in partnership with Circuit of the Americas on Aug. 10, followed by “Showcase Events” taking place throughout the city from Aug. 11-14 which will debut apparel and accessories collections at the landmark Driskill Hotel during “Driskill Runways and Marketplace,” Aug. 15-17.
