Austin Fashion Designer Teresa Valenzuela-Basa Launches Clothing Line

9:12 am by admin Leave a Comment

Inspired by the wind and sun of her native Chile, Austin fashion designer Teresa Valenzuela-Basa will unveil her Vento e Sole (wind and sun) clothing line at Ballet Austin this 17th of March.  The clothing line, which features bold, radiant and captivating designs for today’s sophisticated young woman, will mark the coming out party for Valenzuela-Basa as she establishes herself as a premier and emerging designer in the Austin fashion scene.

Renowned for her work in jewelry design, Valenzuela-Basa has extended her creative talents into fashion by incorporating movement and light into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.   The Vento e Sole fashion debut conglomerates members of the fashion industry, local retailers, celebrities, media and public at large.  Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit SafePlace and Ballet Austin.   “My need to create beautiful clothing is as strong as my commitment to give back to the community. Fashion design allows me to incorporate these two elements in my life and for that I feel truly privileged,” adds Valenzuela-Basa.

The Vento e Sole Debut fashion show takes place on Sunday, March 17th at Ballet Austin.  The event begins with a reception at 5:00pm and the official fashion launch immediately following.

About the Designer:

Teresa Valenzuela-Basa left her native Chile in 1991 to pursue her dreams in fashion design.  Her passion for art, color and fashion led to an initial career in jewelry design which later evolved into a creation of a full line of fashion apparel.  Her work has been featured in Austin Fashion Week, the Texas Emmy Awards and Austin RAWartists.org.  She currently resides in Austin with her three children where her longstanding participation in nonprofit management keeps her actively involved in the Austin community
