Anytime Fitness Media Challenge 2010

9:36 am by admin Leave a Comment

When I first heard about this challenge, I didn’t know what to expect. What I did know is that I needed a good swift kick in the butt to get me back into shape. I thought, or assumed, that whatever I was doing was enough. I knew better, but I managed to convince myself that where I was at health-wise was fine. As a former personal trainer, however, I knew deep down that I should be doing more.

After moving back from Hawai’i late last year, I knew that my physical activity would be lacking compared to how active I had been. I was going to have to try real hard to keep up with my old life. I tried to keep myself in shape, but I failed miserably. I would keep up a good routine for a while and then I would stop.  There was never anything consistent.

Then, I get invited to do the Anytime Fitness Media Challenge. This is exactly what I needed. I had been in desperate need of a spark. I always thought that I could motivate myself enough to stay in shape and, for the most part, I was right, but I always knew that I should be doing more. Well, this is my spark. Thanks to the Anytime Fitness Media Challenge 2010, I’ll be able to get myself back into shape.

Reason number two for me to do this challenge was so I could force myself to be more disciplined about working out and eating right. Staying in shape has always been important to me, especially since heart disease runs in my family. Keeping heart disease at bay has always been important to me. Keeping myself active and eating the right foods will go a long way to keeping my heart ticking for a while longer.

Reason number three, and probably the reason most of us workout: vanity. I not only want to be healthy and look healthy, I want to look good too.  I want to look like that guy on the cover of whatever men’s magazine I’m reading at the moment. I know it sounds silly, but I have no problem admitting this fact, while most people will usually skirt around the issue and say they work out for other reasons. Well, I’m working out for all the good reasons (i.e. health) and all the bad ones (i.e. vanity).

For whatever reason we are doing this challenge, in the end, all of the participants will finish a winner-healthier and looking fantastic. With a little self-discipline, we can all stay active and keep ourselves healthy after the challenge. Isn’t that what this is all about? Being active and staying healthy . . . oh yeah, and looking good!

So wish me and all the participants luck. We are all extremely excited and fortunate for this opportunity. Thanks again Anytime Fitness Media Challenge 2010 for giving me a swift kick in the butt and helping all of us get healthier.
