9:45 am by admin Leave a Comment

Zao is hosting an event on December 3rd called “A Night for Uganda”.
Every penny earned from this event will go to our orphanage in Uganda
and we are also going to give 200 ex-child slaves in India Christmas.

“A Night for Uganda” will be a fun filled night of food, drinks, great
live music, a silent auction, and plenty of dancing. There will also be
a Zao presentation with a short documentary on our children. Food and
Drinks are complementary with the purchase of a ticket. Ticket info on,

About Zao, Two years ago I started an orphanage in Busegga, Uganda.
Uganda is home to a war that lasted over 23 years, 2.5 million orphans,
940,000 people living with HIV, 56% of the population is under 18, and
most of the country lives on $1 a day. All of this pain in a country the
size of Oregon.

The orphanage started with 5 children that were going to be put on back
on the street because an American Missionary decided they did not want
to keep their orphanage open anymore. A Ugandan friend and I decided
that we had to do something. I told him to manage things Uganda side,
and I would fundraise.

Now we have 15 children, with 300 on the waiting list. So that we can
accept more children, we plan to soon buy land to build a large
facility, a school, livestock, gardens, a well, and solar paneling.

We send these beautiful children to private school, we feed, love,
house, and give them medical attention, as well as anything a normal
3-14yr old would want!

We are also in the process of adopting an orphanage in India that has
lost its funding because of the bad economy. Zao should be adopting 200
ex-child slaves by the summer of 2011.
