Excessive alcohol use could increase risk of dementia
The study, published Tuesday in the journal Lancet Public Health, looked at over 1 million adults released from French hospitals between 2008 and 2013 who were diagnosed with dementia, a clinical syndrome characterized by a progressive deterioration in cognitive ability. More than 22,000 pounds of beef are being recalled due to possible E. coli contamination, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Monday. Researchers at the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology showed a periodic fasting diet can reduce cardiovascular risk factors, among other health benefits.
