Subiendo: The Academy for Rising Leaders

Subiendo is a five-day intensive leadership program on the University of Texas Campus open to 11th graders across the state of Texas. Austinites make recycling reality with Dare to Go Zero

As part of the Solid Waste Services Department's Zero Waste Strategic Plan to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills by 20 percent in 2012 and 90 percent by 2040, a reality-based show, ‘Dare to Go Zero,’ is scheduled to air in late April. The City of Austin currently diverts about 39 percent of waste from area landfills.. The Souvenir Menu – Cool River Café

For many years I worked in north Austin and the Cool River Café on Parmer Lane was always a popular choice for lunch with a Sales Rep or Client. President Obama heats up Austin

Air Force One arrived in Austin a little earlier than expected around 12:05 p.m. with Gov. Rick Perry, State Sen. Kirk Watson, State Rep. Mark Strama and Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell meeting the president on the tarmac. Media and special guests were also on hand to welcome him enduring the blistering Texas heat.
